WAN QING - youre my best ever fren. the best person ive ever met (not including my relatives). i rmbr dat u even once offered 2 not go to the chinese orchestra nan jing trip cos i told u i couldnt go. although youre one of my quietest frens, youre still a wonderful listener and will always listens to my problems and try to comfort me. my life seems quite empty without u, u and yr wonderful character :). hope yr father will get u a handphone some time soon and yr brother stops annoying u. and also hope dat we can spend more time together during the hols. im hoping dat i'll be seeing u in 6I nxt yr. thanks a lot wan qing :D gd luck 4eva and happy hols! :D

sigh
2day was terrible
had pipa exam and rehearsal
but tcher say i dont need memorise the song 4 exam
so i didnt memorise the last song
den the examiner say i cannot take without memorising
so she motioned me to get out of the room
and i did dat
and told one of the people helping out 4 the exam outside
dat liu laoshi say i didnt need to memorise
but halfway i broke down crying
sobs sobs
den my father appeared
darn i started crying a lot more
so i ran into the toilet to wash my face
sigh
den my mother appeared
and at that time the national arts council juz called me
2 ask me where i was as my competition practice session was starting in 10 mins
i juz said i was coming
so i went off with my mother and father
and in the car i told dem wad happened
i also called liu laoshi
liu laoshi said she wld check with nafa
but my parents were driving back 2 nafa
2 talk to the ppl dere
so after talking and talking and talking
my father managed 2 get the ppl 2 let me take the exam
this time with the scores

my parents talked to the receptionist
and she managed to get me another time slot 4 my rehearsal

zhou yu angered to death 三气周瑜
zhou yu was determined to take possession of jingzhou. he had heard that liu bei's wife, lady gan, had passed away. he asked sun quan to pretend to marry his sister to liu bei and entice him to dongwu. then, they could demand jingzhou as ransom. sun quan thought it was a good idea and set someone to propose marriage. liu bei thought it was a ploy by zhou yu but zhuge liang asked him not to worry. he said that he would send zhao yun to protect him and give him three clever schemes enclosed in three bags. that way, liu bei would be safe.
when liu bei arrived in dongwu, sun quan asked the matchmaker to not spread the news as he planned to kidnap liu bei. unfortunately, zhuge liang had foreseen it and had asked zhao yun to spread the news upon arriving at dongwu [that was the first scheme]. zhao yun sent his 500 troops to the streets to buy all the things necessary for the wedding. they also spread the news that liu bei was marrying sun quan's sister. liu bei also went to visit qiao guo lao (乔国老)so that the news would be passed on to the dowager marchioness of wu（吴国太）, mother of sun quan. sun quan's mother was very angry and insisted on meeting liu bei personally. she said that if she was satisfied with liu bei, she would make him her son-in-law, else sun quan could not marry his sister to liu bei.
the dowager marchioness of wu met liu bei at a temple. she was pleased with him and wanted to make him her son-in-law. however, sun quan did not want that to happened and had ordered for an assassination of liu bei. fortunately, zhao yun had found out and reported it to liu bei, who told the dowager. the dowager was once again angry and scolded sun quan.
a few days, a wedding was conducted for liu bei and the princess. the fictitious plot was made real 东吴招亲-弄假成真. after the wedding, zhou yu set about making liu bei stay in dongwu, and indulge in pleasures and fun. happily married, liu bei was so immersed in sensuous pleasures that he gave no thought to returning to jingzhou even at the end of the year. zhao yun opened the second bag of plan that zhuge liang gave him. zhao yun immediately told liu bei that cao cao was leading his troops to attack jingzhou. liu bei and sun quan's sister used ancestral sacrifice on new year's day as an excuse to escape. liu bei and his wife then secretly left the city. sun quan sent a general and his troops after them. but then, an advisor told him that the general sent had no permission and could not capture liu bei as sun quan's sister would surely protect him. sun quan then sent a second general after liu bei. but then the advisor again told him that the general would still not go after liu bei because of his sister. so sun quan sent another general after liu bei, this time with the imperial sword.
luckily, zhuge liang had again foreseen what would happen and already had boats prepared to receive liu bei, but zhou yu gave chase in his boat too. upon arriving at the northern shore, zhou yu followed closely behind. but zhuge liang had arranged for guan yu and huang zhong to set up an ambush. zhou yu and his troops fled back to their boats in panic. the soldiers of liu bei shouted to zhou yu who had escaped back to his boat, "zhou yu made a plan to conquer the world, but instead gave liu bei a wife and lost his soldiers 周瑜陪了夫人又折兵." zhou yu fainted in anger. later, zhou yu once again led his troops to attack jingzhou. but zhuge liang was well prepared. he lost again. when zhou yu returned to dongwu, he coughed blood and passed away. he was only 36. but before his death, he shouted at the river bank, "since thou made zhou yu, why did thou also create zhuge liang? 即生瑜，何生亮！"
zhuge liang then personally went to dongwu to pay respect at zhou yu's grave. some loyal generals in dongwu (eg. gan ning, huang gai, cheng pu) thought that zhuge liang had something to do with zhou yu's death and planned to kill him. but luckily zhao yun saved zhuge liang. when zhuge liang reached dongwu, he was in tears.

the following are about the battle of red cliff
borrowing arrows by straw boats
zhou yu invited zhuge liang over. he wanted to make things difficult for zhuge liang as he was jealous of zhuge liang's talent. he said that his army was short of arrows and he hoped that zhuge liang would undertake to supply about 100,000 arrows in 10 days' time. zhuge liang said that cao cao's army would attack very soon and that 1- days would be too late. he requested zhou yu to give him just 3 days. zhou yu said to zhuge liang, "there's no time for jokes during warfare. if you cannot accomplish the task in three days, you shall be severely punished. " zhou yu was wary of zhuge liang's talent and intelligence, and had been thinking of ways to get rid of him.
for 3 consecutive days, zhuge liang did nothing nor ordered anyone to make arrows. on the night of the third day, there was a thick fog, he got his men to fasten 20 boats together with kong metal chains. a thousand straw bundles were also lashed to the side of each boat. in a file, the boats moved towards cao cao's naval camp. zhuge liang also gave orders for the men on the boats to beat the drums and shout. told of a night attack by the enemy cao cao quickly prepared for a counter-attack. cao cao said,"coming up in a fog like this means that they have prepared an ambush for us. shoot arrows at them and prevent them from coming near the naval camp." arrows from cao cao's army fell like rain onto the boats. not long after, the straw bundles on the boats were bristling with arrow. zhuge liang ordered the boats to turn round so that the arrows would also hit the opposite side. when dawn came and the fog started to disappear, zhuge liang ordered the men to leave. before pulling out, his men made a shout.
we thank you prime minister for the arrows!"

cao cao sent 1 of his advisor, jiang gan, who was 1 of zhou yu's childhood friend, to persuade him to surrender. however, zhou yu saw through the trick and devised a counter-plan. he ordered for a banquet to be given for jiang gan and then pretended to be drunk. after that, he invited jiang gan to sleep with him in the same tent. but in truth, zhou yu had placed a forged letter by cai mao and zhang yun, stating that they would attack cao cao from within and then capture him. jiang gan believed the letter and was shocked. he immediately left for cao cao's camp and gave him the letter. at first, cao cao believed the letter and ordered for cai mao and zhang yun's execution. however, he soon realised his mistake and regretted it deeply as cai mao and zhang yun were very good at training the soldiers on naval warfare.
inflicting injury on oneself to fool the enemy
cao cao sent 2 of his men to pretend to surrender to zhou yu, but they were actually spies to gather intelligence. zhou yu seized the chance and pretended to fall for the plan and allowed the 2 spies, cai he and cai zhong [sons of cai mao], to stay. one night, a veteran general huang gai, who had worked in dongwu for 3 generations, came to visit zhou yu. they discussed a plan and decided to use the stratagem-inflicting injury on oneself to fool the enemy. the next day, zhou yu gathered his generals.
"it's not easy to defeat cao cao, who has an army of 1 million. why dont we take zhang zhao's (courtesy name zi bu) advice and surrender to cao cao!"
zhou yu pretended to be very angry and ordered the guards to take huang gai away for execution. but as all the officers pleaded pity for huang gai, zhou yu finally spared his life. but zhou yu still insisted on giving huang gao a hundred whacks.
huang gai was beaten till he passed out. his back was cut in many places and blood flowed in streams. that night, huang gai revealed the truth to his advisor kan ze.
kan ze immediately brought huang gai's letter to cao cao. cao cao didnt believe the letter at first but when he ordered for kan ze's execution, kan ze just laughed. he then mentioned some things that made cao cao believe hime. later, cao cao received a letter from cai he and cai zhong which reported the punishment of huang gai. he thused believed in the sincerity of the intended surrender and settled with kan ze the date for huang gai's defection.
interlocking stratagem 连环计
not long after, pang tong [courtesy name shi yuan, also known as young phoenix] came to work for cao cao. in fact, he was actually sent my zhou yu's advisor lu su to trick cao cao into chaining his boats together so that zhou yu could use a fire attack. cao cao's advisor advised him earnestly, saying that chaining the ships together will cause great damage if the zhou yu used fire to attack them. however, the north-western wind was blowing at that time, and if zhou yu were to use fire attack, he would end up burning his own troops.
zhuge liang borrows the eastern winds
on the other hand, zhou yu also suddenly realised this fact. in his anxiety, zhou yu coughed blood and fell ill [he was shot by a poison arrow. thus, if he got excited or nervous, he would cough blood]. zhuge liang wrote a prose for zhou yu and asked him to build the altar of the seven stars. he then put on a taoist robe and approached the altar to carry out prayers. three days later, a southeast wind began blowing. zhuge liang did not know magic but had studied astronomical and climatic phenomena, and knew that a southeast wind would soon be blowing. zhou yu was jealous of zhuge liang's talents and wanted to get rid of him as soon as possible. zhou yu sent his men after zhuge liang, but zhuge liang expected the harm that would befall him. he had made arrangements for zhao yun to come with a boat to take him back to xiakou , where liu bei was.
the fire at red cliff 火烧赤壁
zhou yu ordered kan ze and gan ning [a general] to pretend to surrender, thus gaining cai he and cai zhong's trust. cai he and cai zhong were tricked and then zhou yu ordered kan ze to drink wine with cai he and cai zhong. but before huang gai left to feign surrender to cao cao, zhou yu ordered gan ning to go to cao cao's camp and bring cai zhong along to gain access to it. then zhou yu ordered for cai he's execution.
after that, zhou yu ordered huang gai to lead 20 boats to cao cao's camp to feign surrender. cao cao waited for huang gai's fleet at the naval camp. in huang gai's letter to cao cao, he said that he would arrive at the third watch with grain boats bearing green dragon flags. but when cao cao's advisor cheng yu say the boats, he knew something was wrong- the boats were light, unlike grain boats. cao cao then ordered 10 cruisers to stop the approaching fleet. huang gai killed the leader of the ships, burnt the boats and pushed it towards cao cao's naval camp. the burning boats charged towards the naval camp. cao cao's fleet was chained together and there wwas no escape. all the ships were immediately engulfed in a sea of roaring fires. the entire army was wiped out with only a few survivors. cao cao boarded a small boat and escaped to safety with his remaining soldiers.
in the battle of red cliff 赤壁之战, cao cao lost more than 1 thousand fighting ships and thousand of troops.

ytd finally finish watching romance of the three kingdoms
84 chapters-around 1 hr for each episode

anw, im gna post abt some parts in three kingdoms here
btw, they are simplified ar, im not gna post the full thing in my blog.
and the information is according to The Three Kingdoms-Teamwork, Wisdoms and Strategy and not the movie i juz finished watching.
sworn brotherhood in the peach garden
in the late han dynasty, corruption caused suffering to the people. the yellow turban rebellion led by zhang jiao erupted. troops were enlisted to fight the rebels.
in the county of yuzhou was a man called liu bei. he sold straw sandals for a living. unfortunately, business was bad as nobody had the mood to buy new shoes in chaotic times.
he then spotted a notice calling for volunteer soldiers. he sighed very loudly and a man heard. he said "a man should help the country in need. why do you sigh?" liu bei replied, "i too wish to achieve great deeds, but i am poor and can't afford to raise troops." the man then introduced himself and said he was looking for partners. he was zhang fei. he slaughtered pigs and sold wine for a living. they decided to talk it over a drink.
at the wine house, another man suddenly came in and asked for some wine, saying that he was in a hurry to join the army. zhang fei invited the man, guan yu, to come for a drink. liu bei, zhang fei and guan yu felt like old friends at this first meeting. they then decided to swear brotherhood and embark on their great undertaking together.
the trio swore brotherhood at the peach garden in zhang fei's farm.
"we ask not the same day of birth, but we seek to die together"
不求同年同月同日生，但愿同年同月同日死。
liu bei was the eldest brother, guan yu the second, while zhang fei became the youngest of the trio. they then mustered their weapons.
liu bei used a pair of ancient swords. guan yu used a green dragon sabre while zhang fei used a serpent spear. they gathered a troop of 5-- soldiers and joined the imperial army.
brilliant chain strategam
dong zhuo, took advantage of the discord int he imperial court and seized power. he deposed the emperor liu bian and enthroned the nine year old liu xie as emperor xian of han.
dong zhuo was defeated at tiger trap pass.after the defeat, dong zhuo decided to move the capital city from luoyang to chang'an. he seized money and treasures in luoyang. taking emperor xian and some ministers by force, he left luoyang.
situ wang yun hated dong zhuo and thought of a chain stratagem to get rid of him by using his foster daughter diao chan. wang yun invited lu bu for a drink at his house, saying that he wished to present diao chan to him as a wife. he said that he would choose an auspicious day and send diao chan to lu bu's palace. a few days later, wang yun invited dong zhuo to a dinner reception, and had diao chan perform a dance. he then gave diao chan to dong zhuo.
when lu bu knew that dong zhuo had taken diao chan with him, he stomped angrily to look for wang yun and questioned him. wang yun explained, " dong zhuo said he was taking diao chan away to betroth her to you. how would i dare stop him?"
burning with rage, lu bu came to the prime minister's palace to find out the truth. he saw diao chan alone in the garden. diao chan said that dong zhuo did not want to betroth her to lu bu and that she wanted to jump into the pond to prove how true she was to him. suddenly, dong zhuo appeared. lu bu fled in panic. now diao chan claimed that lu bu flirted with her when he was not around. she was so afraid that she wanted to jump into the pond to kill herself. after dong zhuo and lu bu became enemies, wang yun secretly plotted with lu bu to kill dong zhuo. one day, wang yun enticed dong zhuo out of his palace. lu bu, who was hiding nearby, then thrust his spear into dong zhuo's throat and killed him instantly.
battle of guandu
after yuan shao and cao cao fought a few times, cao cao's army was forced to retreat to guandu. yuan shao had 700,000 troops, while cao cao only had 70,000 well-trained troops. one day, yuan shao's advisor, xu you, advised yuan shao to attack cao cao as his grain supply was running out. however, yuan shao did not listen and xu you defected to cao cao's camp as he was actually a good friend of cao cao. he advised cao cao to set fire to yuan shao's grain depot in wuchao and upset his plans.
cao cao chose 5,000 of his trained troops and changed them into the clothes of yuan shao's army. the soldiers sneaked into yuan shao's army camp in wuchao. the general guarding wu chao, chun yu qiong, loved to drink. at that moment, he was heavily drunk. cao cao's army started the blaze at the grain depot without mishap. cao cao then took the opportunity to launch an attack. yuan shao's army was thrown into confusion. yuan shao took flight with 800 of his troops. after the battle at guandu, yuan shao lost power completely. one day, he coughed out blood and passed away.
liu bei pays three visits to the cottage of zhuge liang.
xu shu, a friend of liu bei, advised him to seek the services of zhuge liang
(courtesy name kong ming), who was a great politician as well as a military
strategy and tactics genius. he told liu bei that zhuge liang lived at longzhong, a small town about twenty miles away from xiang yang city.
one day in mid-winter, liu bei, from xin ye his home base,
with his two sworn brothers, and bringing along some gifts and presents,
went to longzhong to visit zhuge liang. liu bei wanted zhuge liang to help
him to establish a administration.
on the way to zhuge liang's cottage they passed through many lotus fields.
they heard the farmers saying a folk song,
"The sky is like a round lid.
The earth is like a chess board.
People are divided into good and bad.
Time-immemoral they fought for glory and fame.
The victors will live in peace and contented
The losers will have miserable and hard lives
In Nan Yang there resides a hermit
Who lives happily with a reclusive life "
after hearing the song liu bei got down from the horse and asked a farmer
who composed the song. he replied,
"mr er long (zhuge liang) composed it."
"where does mr er long live?" asked Liu Bei.
"from the south of this hill to the high ridge is
called er long geng. In front of the ridge there is a cottage.
that is the reclusive place of of mr er long kong ming."
following the direction liu bei obtained from the farmer, the three
brothers proceeded on their way to seek for zhuge liang. after walking for
a few miles they arrived at the cottage where zhuge liang lived.
liu bei knocked at the door. a young male housekeeper opened the door.
liu bei introduced himself and asked if mr zhuge liang was home. the
house-keeper was a bit annoyed. he replied that mr zhuge liang had gone out
early that morning and that he didnt know when he would be back. liu bei then left the cottage.
a few days later, a messenger came with a report saying that zhuge liang was back. liu bei, zhang fei and guan yu went to longzhong amid bitter wind and heavy snow. zhang fei complained ceaselessly about the cold snow and wind, but liu bei was determined to continue. zhang fei then refused to leave without liu bei.
the trio arrived at the cottage and found a young man reading in the hall. unfortunately, the man was zhuge jun, zhuge liang's brother. thus, liu bei once again departed in disappointment.
a few days later, liu bei, guan yu and zhang fei paid a third visit to zhuge liang. when they reached there, the housekeeper told liu bei that zhuge liang was at home but asleep. liu bei waited at the bottom of the stairs, but zhang fei was getting impatient.he wanted to burn the back of the house and see if that would wake zhuge liang up. liu bei told zhang fei to not be rude. after a long time, zhuge liang finally woke up. at first, he didnt want to work for liu bei, but in the end liu bei managed to persuade him. zhuge liang then departed his cottage in longzhong with liu bei, guan yu and zhang fei.
zhuge liang provokes zhou yu
zhuge liang went over to dongwu (ruler-sun quan) in hope of forming an alliance between sun quan and liu bei.
he argued with many of dongwu's scholars but halfway, huang gai, a veteran general came and brought zhuge liang to see sun quan. but sun quan was still unsure abt forming the alliance. the civil officials wanted to surrender to cao cao, while the generals wanted to fight cao cao. in the end, sun quan's mother came and reminded sun quan that his brother sun ce had said b4 his death
"for internal affairs, consult zhang zhao. for external affairs, consult zhou yu"
zhou yu first had a meeting with the civil officials, den had a meeting with the generals. lastly, he had a meeting with zhuge liang and lu su (the only civil official who wanted to fight cao cao). zhuge liang angered zhou yu into choosing to fight cao cao by using a very funny method. he claimed that cao cao had come to attack dongwu because that he wanted to have two women from there, da qiao and xiao qiao. zhuge liang recited a poem written by cao cao's son cao zhi which angering zhou yu. when in truth the poem was about cao cao wanting 2 bridges.
*qiao is bridge in chinese
in the end, zhou yu got angered and told sun quan to attack cao cao
zhuge liang could sense that sun quan still had doubts about attacking cao cao as cao cao had an army of 1 million. zhuge liang told zhou yu to ease sun quan's fear so zhou yu told sun quan that cao cao's army of 1 million was actually just an army of 160, 000 and that half of the soldiers were from liu biao and yuan shao. he also said that a big portion of the other half were injured, sick or old. sun quan believed him and decided to attack cao cao.

to meet wan qing at blk 60

anw, 2day was tns 102 anniversary
the p5's "celebrated" it by hving to design a mascot
my grp members were wan qing, jia min, ashleigh and lynn
lynn join us cos sara not around and she was grpless...?
well, we drew a walking/living/climbing tns school crest climbing a mountain
haha
we finished in such a short time
and were the 1st grp to finish
haha
and then there was still 1.5 hrs more to go
haha :)
after dat the class went to the canteen to get free milo
erms... i dont really like
so ashleigh, me, wan qing and lynn shared a packet of onion rings
yum yum
after school was the p6 prefs farewell party
boring
we made a big circle
and ms dawn chua made a speech
den we played some games
the first game was blow wind blow
erms...
den we played whacko
but the rule was dat we muz call some1 of a dif lvl
last game was bomb

den the tchers gave out the certs to the p6 prefs
den announce who wld be in the exco'09

guess wad

reasons-
- the bk cost $3.80
- only wan qing and me hv signed it so far (only TWO PPL hv signed it so far)
- only around 10 pgs hv been used so far
- waste paper
- waste money
- global warming
- now the economy terrible. think i can still go around wasting my money on bks dat were spoiled not bcos of me?
- i dont think my mom will let me go buy another bk and i dont lie to my parents
- the liquid dat went onto my bk is PEPSI and not WATER so there will be a PERMANENT stain on the bk and i cant use it any more
- the bk WAS new, beautiful, wonderful, and ex in my point of view
